Moona Shakil Ali was born in Islamabad, Pakistan. She received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marymount University in 1998. In May of 2001, she received her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. Since then, Ms. Shakil has been a practicing immigration attorney, focusing much of her efforts on visas and residency for skilled workers and investors. She also frequently handles family based immigration cases, along with naturalization, asylum and Violence Against Women Act cases.
